This famous course, closely associated with Christy O'Connor Snr, is located on the North East Coast of Dublin, about 3 miles from the city centre. The course is laid out in the old traditional links style and the wind from Dublin Bay adds an extra challenge to the experience. Bull Island, where the course is located, is a bird sanctuary, an area of major scientific importance because of its variety of plant and wildlife. Seve Ballesteros and Bernhard Lenger competed here in the Irish Open 1983-1985.
